Albano Guatti
Albano Guatti was born in Udine in 1950. He has studied aesthetics
with Ermanno Migliorini at the University of Florence, where he has
collaborated in the teaching activities and graduated. He works as
freelance photographer, and since 1978 he has divided his time between
New York, where he lives, and Italy.
In the early Seventies he began his experiments with visual poetry.
Since 1974 to 1980 he has focused mainly on performances, presenting
a long series in galleries and museums, both in Europe and in the
United States, even if he has also produced many photography works
and some installations. Since 1980, the year in which he intentionally
presented his "last" performance, his work centers principally
on photography and installations.
